Galileo Galilei's
Astronomical Telescope

When: Friday, 23 October 2009
       6:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Where: Pima College Observatory - East Campus

What: A very special FREE public program including:

Lecture by Professor Iadevaia titled "Galileo Galilei's Astronomical Telescope"

Short planetarium program titled "Two Small Pieces of Glass"
A raffle will be held and 80 lucky families will win a GalileoScope!

The winning families will be able to build the GalileoScope that night
and view the planet Jupiter as did Galileo 400 years ago! Since the
GalileoScope is similar in optical configuration and size as the first
astronomical telescope built and used by Galileo, on 7 January 1610,
users of the GalileoScope will see exactly what Galileo saw on that night
       400 years ago!

Viewing with the observatory's telescopes will also be available.
